AOS: Discovery Introduction Resource

This is an introduction to the Area of Study: Discovery for use by students, tutors, parents and teachers. It includes activities (you will need to have a printed copy of the rubric, which is available for free on the BOSTES site) and a list of 20 sample related texts that students can consider. I have tried to come up with some variety with this list and to include some unique examples that will surprise markers and help students' essays to stand out from the crowd.
I have included a page of tips from tutors and students I have worked with over the years of how to survive the HSC year, as this resource is usually used in small tutoring workshop settings where that sort of discussion is encouraged. I have not included page numbers in this 7-page resources to make it easier for classroom teachers to cut this page out should they wish to. I have used this successfully in individual and group lessons as an initial introduction to the Area of Study. Duration: 1 hour.
